Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. Biography (1909-2000)
Full name, Douglas Elton Fairbanks, Jr.; born December 9, 1909, in New York,NY; son of Douglas Elton (an actor) and Anna Elizabeth (Beth; maiden name, Sully) Fairbanks; married Joan Crawford, 1929 (divorced, 1933); married Mary Lee Epling Hartford, April 22, 1939; children: (second marriage) Daphne, Kay, Victoria, Melissa. Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., has made England his principal home since the early 1950's. In 1955, he was the subject of a biography, Knight Errant, by Brian Connell. In 1951, Fairbanks formed his own company, The Dougfair Corporation, through which he pursues all his professional activities.
Fairbanks dies on May 7, 2000, at the age of 90.
