Fritz Holt began his career in 1965 as an assistant stage manager for the Mineola Playhouse in Long Island. In the same capacity he toured with the national production of Cabaret in 1967 and later served as production stage managerfor Company and Follies, both on Broadway. In 1973, Holt co-produced (with Barry Brown) the successful London revival of Gypsy starring Angela Lansbury.He returned to Broadway where his stagings included The Royal Family, 1975, The Madwoman of Central Park West, 1979, Perfectly Frank, 1980, and he servedas executive producer of La Cage aux Folles, 1983. Holt's last stage productions included Best of the Best, an all-star benefit at the Metropolitan OperaHouse for AIDS victims, and Happy Birthday, Mr. Abbott!, the Actors' Fund ofAmerica's celebration of George Abbott's one hundredth birthday.
