Anita Morris Biography (1943-1994)



Born March 14, 1943, in Durham, NC; died of cancer, March 2, 1994, in Los Angeles, CA. Actress. Anita Morris began her acting career on the stage with theAmerican Mime Theatre before landing roles in the Broadway productions of The Seesaw and The Magic Show, the latter of which was directed by her husband,Grover Dale. These were soon followed by roles in Sugar Babies and The BestLittle Whorehouse in Texas. Morris is best known for her performance in the Broadway production of Nine, which garnered her a Drama Desk award and an Antoinette Perry Award nomination. She also appeared in such films as Ruthless People, The Hotel New Hampshire, Absolute Beginners, and 18 Again; Morris had been working on George Lucas' Radioland Murders when she was diagnosed with cancer.
