Laurence Hugo Biography (1927-1994)



Full name, Laurence Victor Hugo; born December 22, 1927, in Berkeley, CA; died of complications from Alzheimer's disease, March 2, 1994, in Charlottesville, VA. Actor. Hugo performed mainly on stage and in television, and is perhaps most easily recognized from his many years as the character Mike Karr in the television series, Edge of Night. Hugo made his stage debut in 1941, appearing in The Distant City. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II,he returned to the theater, appearing in such productions as Decision, Born Yesterday, Stalag 17, Winter's Tale, The Price, The Seagull, and The Vinegar Tree. He also toured in productions of Hamlet and Morning's at Seven. His television credits include appearances in City of Angels and Trial of General George Armstrong Custer.
