Born c. 1910 (some sources say 1909); died after an automobile crash, May 22,1985, in Burbank, CA. Career: Animator, director, and producer, sometimes using the nickname Woolie Reitherman. Walt Disney Studios, worked as assistant animator, became animator, then director and producer, 1933-66, producer of animated feature films, beginning in 1966. Awards, Honors: Academy Award, 1968, for Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day; Academy Award nomination, best animated short film, 1974, for Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too..
