Richardson died (of cancer related problems, leukemia listed on his death certificate), on a Monday night, January 5, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. surrounded by loving friends.
His cast of pet cats through the years were anointed with interesting monikers...
(1) "Sump'n Else" (2) "Never" the less (3) "Kukama" look at that! (4) Grey "Poupon" (5) Little "Boss" (6) Honey (7) "Baby" (8) a mischievous black Manx named "Dee Tail"
Upon Claibe's death, "Honey" lived two weeks and died. "Baby" died three weeks later.
Claibe was cremated and his ashes were spread in Central Park, where he often walked, sitting during the day for a break, gaining inspiration for his compositions and music.
