Born March 17, 1929; son of Edward (an accountant) and Jean (Zomick) Alexander; married: Jane Quigley, 1962 (divorced, 1968); married Riki, 1970 (divorced, 1981); children: Jason, Taro. Addresses: HOME--Washington, DC. OFFICE--Sixth and Maine Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20024.

Alexander told CTFT that he was "nursed on the concepts and philosophies of the 'Group Theatre.' I was inspired by Stanislavski, O'Casey, Lorca, Pete Seeger, Martha Graham, and Zelda Fichandler." He states further that "I have always been drawn to social justice ideas and am a strong advocate for the rightsof children and youth."
