Jeremy Sinden Biography (1950-1996)



Born June 14, 1950, in London, England; died of cancer, May 29, 1996, in London, England. Actor. Sinden gained acclaim for his portrayal of Boy Mulcasterin Evelyn Waugh's television series Brideshead Revisited. The son of an actorand actress, Sinden studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.In 1969 he worked as a stage manager at the Pitlocking Festival Theatre in Scotland. From 1970 to 1972, Sinden toured with the Royal Shakespearean Company; he also worked in repertory theater. He made his London stage debut at theMermaid Theatre in a production of Journey's End. His other stage credits include Othello, Cyrano de Bergerac, Wind in the Willows, and An Ideal Husband.In 1977 Sinden made his film debut as one of the rebel pilots in Star Wars.In 1981 he appeared in the Academy Award-winning film Chariots of Fire. He was cast in several made for television miniseries, including The Far Pavilions, The Expert, and Danger UXB. He also appeared in several productions of Masterpiece Theatre, including "Lord Mountbatten: The Last Victory" and "After the War." His other television credits included "Middlemarch" and "Crossroads."
