Born August 17, 1902, in Boston, MA; died in Williamsburg, VA, March 31, 1986; married Gertrude Lawrence (an actress), 1940 (died, 1952); married Elizabeth Boyd; children: Richard, David, Susan, Mary.

Richard Aldrich was director of the Economic Aid Mission and minister of theembassy for Economic Affairs in Madrid, Spain, from 1955-62; he was also U.S.aid director to Morocco, 1962-65.
