Emily McLaughlin Biography (1928-1991)



Born December 1, 1928, in White Plains, NY; died of cancer, April 26, 1991, in Los Angeles, CA. Actress.

McLaughlin is best remembered for her role as nurse Jessie Brewer on the daytime television series General Hospital. After studying drama in New York City in the 1950s, she acted in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions andtoured in Richard III, Plaza Suite, and The Corn is Green. She made her soap opera debut on Young Doctor Malone and was a performer on other television shows, including Studio One, The TwilightZone, and The Eleventh Hour. McLaughlin was a member of the original cast of General Hospital, which was first broadcast in 1963, and continued her role until the time of her death in 1991.
